i had an almost obsessive interest in collecting owls in every shapes and colours many years back when i was still in school. my interest for everything owl-ish kinda waned after i moved to melbourne in 2000 (wow freakin nine years ago!)

yesterday i saw a t-shirt with an owl on it and i instantly became really fascinated with the print. owls are so freakin cool. supercool. it looks almost a person with wings and a beak. and some feathers…

and here’s a picture of me and my friend posing with some so-called exotic birds at the bird park in kuala lumpur. i had two owls of different species on me (i felt so excited then!).

one with the bushiest eyebrows and one with the cutest face!

i wanna take them home!

and then i would buy this tree bed and let them sleep in the cute little nest on top :)

pretty owl pictures come from:
The Owl in front of an abandoned House , vellumminous rex , great gray owl , owl teaparty! , little red riding owl and hedgehog

I’m a little obsessed with Simon Arne‘s work right now. He’s an artist from Höganäs (a little town 20km from where I live)… I’m not exactly sure how famous he is really. But it really doesn’t matter, I think he rocks!

I mean who wouldn’t want to live with a quirky looking cat like animal with blue eyes in the living room?

Here are some of his paintings hanging in a cozy little cafe in Mölle… I got so excited when I saw them! Quirky men in patterned t-shirts surrounded by cool cat like animals with blue eyes!

Simon Arne said he was inspired to paint dots or fill up space with dots after he went for an eye examination ten years ago where he got to see lots of dots!

Looooove this…

Inspired by an eye examination… I wish he would paint more! And I wish I had thought of that when I had my eyes checked two months ago…

Check him out.

Not sure why I am one of these people who are obsessed with things…

So as you might have already guessed, I am currently obsessed with freaking

me avocado

There I said it! Feel so much better now. Phew. This week I had avocado sushi for lunch on two different occasions and avocado for dinner almost every day. I would stand by the fridge with my good knife and cut that avocado and peel that silly skin off and then eat it right there and then! My hands would then be covered with green avocado slime and I would lick them clean. Mmmmm. And I would do this again and again. Yeah, I would stop playing Guitar Hero and go eat an avocado in the kitchen. And I think about avocado all the time (I’m thinking of it now!). I am also trying to grow avocado from the seed. I look at it every morning before I go to work. Watch the tiny roots grow.

Grow faster! Grow some leaves and then gimme avocado! I wanna eat it!

I wanna eat that slimy avocado.

yeah I am going nuts. It feels like this avocado obsession has no end… (I’m pretty sure about that!) I love avocado.

mmmm…. yum yum yum.

yeah. i love avocado. i love eating avocado. so damn much. and forever and ever.

*heart shaped seed avocado picture from here. so lovely i wanna eat it!

i will gladly burn my tongue off for you.

I am totally obsessed with salt & vinegar chips. I cannot stop thinking about salt & vinegar chips. Thanks to Estrella’s new salt & vinegar flavoured chips I walk on a different route from work to home just to avoid the video store that sells salt & vinegar chips because I know I cannot help going into the store and take at least one bag of the 300g salt & vinegar chips back home.

*dies again*

I must say though the Estrella ones aren’t as good as the Walkers or Lays ones… but it works for now. At least I think it tastes better than the Pringles ones. At least it’s real potato chips. And because I love any salt & vinegar chips. But to be honest the Estrella ones do in fact taste like watered down Walkers salt & vinegar chips.

More salt & vinegar so that I can eat those salt & vinegar chips until my tongue burnt off!

Anyway, it seems like there are people who hate salt & vinegar chips. How can one hate salt & vinegar chips? It’s salt & vinegar. The best snack in the world. I don’t think I can eat any other flavoured chips no more.

Updated: I went to ICA to get some bread and damn those salt & vinegar chips were just sitting there, crying for me to take them home…

And I did.

thanks for pic.

That crazy little screaming char boh and upside-down glasses

I have done some thinking today. I think about what people think of me. I think about what the most important people in my life think of me. I think about what I think of myself. Then I think about what I think of them and other people. And then I think of the question that Veronika once asked. And I mean the Veronika who decides to die which is one of my favorite books in the whole wide world of course.

What does it mean to be crazy?

You see I am not quite sure why but my doctor says I suffer from hypotension. And she smiles and starts talking about the nice sunny weather. And then people at work think I always yawn. They also think I should sleep early “tonight”. Some people think I laugh too much, I scream too much, I nag too much.

My dad used to call me siao char boh which means crazy woman and slow motion because he thought I had a slowish walk. He still does at times when he gets the chance. My mom used to call me siao char boh and siao lingyi. My beloved grandmother call me siao lang which means crazy person. I guess she uses a gender neutral term because it is more convenient that way. My friends in KL call me sor poh, which basically means the same thing as siao char boh but in Cantonese.

And it doesn’t end there.

He thinks I am nuts because I have my own house rules like when He puts the drinking glasses and mugs upside down after cleaning them I must turn them over again because it makes me anxious if I don’t. I don’t like the thought of the rims coming into contact with the kitchen sink.

He also call me gul which means yellow, screaming little chinese, screaming little mongo, lingovic, lingon, crazy little party girl, regeringen which means the government, tjockis kinesen i Örebro which means the chubby chinese in Örebro (He wrote a song about it), crazy little yellow person, and et cetera.

What does it mean to be crazy?

If I am crazy then I must be living. And happy. At least that is what Paulo thinks.

I know what drives me crazy. The drinking glasses turned wrong side up in the kitchen. And Him not closing the door properly on His way out.

*pulls hair out*
