Screaming in Sweden

Misunderstood girls

People often misunderstand me because of my way of pronouncing things in Swedish. Also my way of expressing myself. I say things without thinking about the grammar or what I am about to say or if someone would get offended.

My little blog would know. I just say things. I cannot imagine that my little blog could offend anyone particularly the Swedes. Everyone I know knows that I love the Swedes. They are quite an original bunch.

Yeah I love the Swedes. In fact I am living with one. I don’t write as much about the Swedes as I would like to anymore maybe because I guess I am gradually becoming accustomed to them and their way of thinking *winks* But perhaps I should write more about the Swedes anyway. Swedes love reading about how people think of them Swedes. If any Swedish person is offended at my little blog then I must have been misunderstood.

Like these girls…

… only that I am not framed in pretty pale pink.

Yeah I love them. They are very pretty.

*hugs*

I love baking but it just takes too much time. Last Sunday, my friends Oliver and Emelie were visiting so I decided to bake lussekatter. Lussekatter are Swedish saffron flavored buns. It’s the thing you eat in December while anticipating for Christmas. Lusse comes from Saint Lucia and Katter means cats. Not sure why cats.

So here I am rolling the dough in a shape of a cat’s tail (perhaps that explains the cats bit).

and here I am trying to form a heart but it ends up looking like a cute little fetus. Reminds me of Alien.

The traditional shape looks like the letter S but I like my saffron buns in many twisted varieties. I think they taste better like that. I also put an extra raisin on each and every bun. I like raisins.

This one looks like a teddy bear or a puppy who lost its ears.

The Swedes like their lussekatter with a glass of milk. Perhaps with a piece of gingersnap too. I like my buns simply with a cup of hot tea.

Perfect winter breakfast.

...
a cold gray day in helsingborg needs a happy song.

Oh, well in 5 years time
We could be walking around a zoo
With the sun shining down over me and you
And there will be love in the bodies of the elephants too
And I'll put my hands over your eyes but you'll peek through

And there will be sun sun sun all over our bodies
And sun sun sun all down our necks
And there will be sun sun sun all over our faces
And sun sun sun so what the heck

'Cos I'll be laughing at all your silly little jokes
And we'll be laughing about how we used to smoke
All those stupid little cigarettes and drink stupid wine
'Cos it's what we needed to have a good time

But it was fun fun fun when we were drinking
And it was fun fun fun when we were drunk
And it was fun fun fun when we were laughing
And it was fun fun fun, oh it was fun

Oh, well I'll look at you and say it's the happiest I've ever been
And I'll say I know how you feel, I have to be James Dean
And she'll say yeah well I feel oh pretty happy too
And I'm always pretty happy when I'm just kicking back with you

And it'll be love love love all through our bodies
And it'll be love love love all through our minds
And it'll be love love love all over her face
And love love love all over mine

And though really all these moments are just in my head
I'll be thinking about them as I'm lying in bed
And I know that really it might not even come true
But in my mind I'm having a pretty good time with you

Oh in 5 years time I might not know you
In 5 years time we might not speak
In 5 years time we might not get along
In 5 years time you might just prove me wrong

Oh there will be love love love wherever you go
*hugs*

I am totally obsessed with salt & vinegar chips. I cannot stop thinking about salt & vinegar chips. Thanks to Estrella’s new salt & vinegar flavoured chips I walk on a different route from work to home just to avoid the video store that sells salt & vinegar chips because I know I cannot help going into the store and take at least one bag of the 300g salt & vinegar chips back home.

*dies*

*dies again*

I must say though the Estrella ones aren’t as good as the Walkers or Lays ones… but it works for now. At least I think it tastes better than the Pringles ones. At least it’s real potato chips. And because I love any salt & vinegar chips. But to be honest the Estrella ones do in fact taste like watered down Walkers salt & vinegar chips.

ESTRELLA (if you’re reading) – WE WANT MORE VINEGAR PLEASE!

More salt & vinegar so that I can eat those salt & vinegar chips until my tongue burnt off!

Anyway, it seems like there are people who hate salt & vinegar chips. How can one hate salt & vinegar chips? It’s salt & vinegar. The best snack in the world. I don’t think I can eat any other flavoured chips no more.

Updated: I went to ICA to get some bread and damn those salt & vinegar chips were just sitting there, crying for me to take them home…

And I did.

:(

*sighs*

thanks for pic.

Please be okay again.

I got the news from Mom yesterday that grandma fell and broke some ribs. She is in pain and I wish I was there by her side to tell her how much I want her to be okay again but I can’t. It sucks to be so far away from home.

Please let her be okay again.

Mark Base inspires me to blog today. I think he has a good point there. People in Helsingborg need to blog more.

(by the way, I saw Mark Base on a PowerPoint slide two days ago. Doing a move from the teapot dance I guess. It’s kinda odd but cool.)

*winks*

Helsingborg is a windy city. It’s horrible. Although I only have 3 songs to get to work every day.

It’s business as usual at work except that we have an English lady visiting this week. Her name is Sarah. It is not the first time I see an English lady at work since we also have an English lady working as receptionist since ages. Her name is Helen.

I’ve always thought Helen is a bit of a Mary Poppins type of lady. She cleans up after you, she sends your clean lunch box to your desk, she chats just about everything and to everyone who passes the front desk, she is jolly, she has a mug with red double decker bus on it, she complains about the English weather sometimes, and she carries an umbrella (or at least I wish she did).

Sarah’s been visiting for 2 days now. The thing is, I can’t help it but wondering how an English lady is like in England. You see I thought Sarah also reminds me of a Mary Poppins type of lady. She chats just about everything and to everyone who barely knows her, she is jolly although I find out today that she has got a terrible headache for the past 2 weeks, she is funny, she loves beer, she complains about the English weather, and she carries an umbrella (or I really wish she did).

I have never been to England. Besides typical English images like red telephone booths, footballs, Gentlemen, double decker buses, rainy days, David Beckham, pubs and so on…

I think England would feel a bit like this:

Mary Poppins

mary

Teapots

teapot

Dark gray days

darksky

Breakfast for champions

beer

Knits

knits

blokes

bloke

and jolly ladies with hat

jolly

I don’t like nannies in general but Mary Poppins is cool. Umbrellas are cool, too.

By the way, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious means roughly “Atoning for educability through delicate beauty” and “what you say when you don’t know what to say” according to wiki.
