hi,
i have hearts all over my legs nowadays :)
old pink hearts.

hope you like them too.
hugs.
It’s really sad that I don’t have time to blog as much as I like anymore. It’s been like months ago since last time. But I guess people get lazy… who is reading my blog anyway. My hope of becoming a superstar in the blogging world has not come true after three years so I guess it won’t ever come true *sighs*
But I still believe that one should keep dreaming anyway *winks*
Today we got bad news at work and it sucks. It sucks so bad that I think I will just keep on dreaming…
of Prague perhaps… that pretty little Prague.

Lots of beers, grumpy Czech people, and pretty buildings that look like lollies and cakes and everything sweet…

I think people should really paint their houses in pastel colours! I would. So pretty and lovely it makes you nice and warm inside by just looking at it. Like how I feel when I look at this little Czech marionette I brought home.

Apparently he is Harlequin, the comic servant from Italy. But I think I’d like to call him Rosy Lips Mister Quin. Tacky but true – his lips are rosy and also he’s holding a cute little red rose of course.

I hope I’ll dream of Rosy Lips Mister Quin tonight… and pretty edible houses.
That would really make my day.
Tuesday is a day to look at the new material things in your life. That is if you like. Tuesday can be any kind of day you wish it to be. A day to go out and play, pop popcorns and watch Alice in Wonderland, or start reading a book.
I look at the new material things I’ve gathered recently. I am the hunter and the gatherer. I like to collect things. It pleasures me to imagine giving my thing a name, a story, a gender or a personality.
Remember I told you about this talented girl named Lou, known as Art & Ghosts? Well, I bought a picture from her, quite long ago. I bought this girl named Samantha… apparently the artist’s favourite. She is so perfect in her little black frame. My kind of dark angel.

I even got a fairytale surprise gift from her. A Storm in a teapot. It is so lovely! I’d frame this tea fairy later and put it in our new kitchen. Near where we make tea.

Then we bought Wesele. We were at this flea market not long ago and saw this wonderful poster.

A Polish lady, the seller, began telling us the story of the poster, dating back in 1901. Wesele, which means The Wedding Reception, is a play written by Stanisław Wyspiański, a famous Polish artist, playwright, and poet. Wesele had a significant meaning to the Polish people, the lady seller told us.
“The play made us look back at our unsuccessful uprisings against the Russians.”
We paid 200kr and brought it home since then. The guy who designed the poster is apparently famous too. His name is Adam Kilian. If you’re bored and looking for a dance, try googling for Adam Kilian with double “l”. *w*
Oh I bought a little red bag today. I paid only 175kr for it at a vintage store. He is too cute. A little Aigner in warm wine red colour, he really cheers me up. Oh and he apparently likes books too.

*Hugs*

I’ve made it!
Yep. I am doing exactly what I’ve imagined I’d be doing -
Sitting at Starbucks Coffee with my little companion, blogging.
But of course I have forgotten that not every country has this high-tech 10 Mbits connection… I was only going to upload 20 photos (probably 1-2MB each), and so far 3 are uploaded since I was here about 75 minutes ago.
Grrrrr!!!!
*pulls hair out*
And I really want to show those pictures I took while I was flying… I did not sleep at all but ate like five meals within 20 hours.
By the way, my mom called me chubby!!!
Anyway, it was very early in the morning when we arrived at Hong Kong. I was so amazed with what I saw through the window. There were clouds above and below the sun… it was soooooo so beautiful. It made me open my mouth to the two most boring Korean girls in the whole world who sat besides me. I had just got to tell someone.
And all I got was some nod.

So now I am here in this silly capitalistic country. Perhaps I’ve been too long in Sweden, I’m a little overwhelmed by how much stuff you can get here. I have already bought a wee bit too much. All pressies, of course. Not sure how much I have to bribe the check-in guy at the airport this time. Heh.
It’s great because I don’t know what’s left in my bank.
How exciting.
Let’s see when I get back.
Let’s see how chubby I’d get when I get back.
Hugs.

It’s Chinese New Year next week and I’m going home. I’m leaving soon… in about 10 hours to be exact. The last time I was home was about two and a half years ago. That’s a long time. I have been feeling really nervous lately about this whole thing so I have spent some money on a pair of Daisy Duck’s shoes during my final moments in Sweden.

I think it’s okay to spend on pretty things when you’re feeling a little edgy. *w*

Come to think of it, perhaps they look more like Grandma Duck’s shoes.

My Grandma Duck’s shoes… we are totally in love with each other. They fit just like a pair of Converse. At least I would imagine so, as I have never owned a pair of Converse in my life.
My Grandma Duck’s shoes would fit perfectly well on CNY. Just so I’d look taller than most of the clan *w*. And so that we would have something else to talk about rather than the usual:
“So, when are you getting married?”
“What do your parents think about you moving so far away?”
“You live together?! You’re not married, are you?”
“Are you moving back to KL someday?”
or remarks like:
“Oh, you’ve become so fat!”
“Wow, how do you become so fair?”
“You’ve put on some weight, huh? Happy living in Sweden?”
“You shouldn’t wear that dress. It makes you look fat.”
And when I hear those words, I’ll know I’m home. It’s no secret that the middle-class Malaysians are completely obsessed with appearance… (and status, and money, too).
It’s a little ironic because most of us rarely exercise, and we eat like nobody’s business. Especially on CNY… mmmm my Granny’s cooking is the best, alright.
My friend sent me a card today and it reminds me of home.
And my 8am flight. And my final moments in Sweden.

Love her *hugs*

There is something about the month December. It is sort of depressing because the days are short. I have greeted the Sun perhaps only twice since December. But maybe it is supposed to be dark. Then the lovely Christmas lights around town would seem brighter. Happier.
Christmas presents have been the topic of conversation this week. I kinda like it. People used to tell me that a good Christmas present is not something you would buy for yourself. But that’s not completely true. I have always picked good presents, I think I do, that I would love to own myself. Even if the present was a men shaver.
I used to think of Christmas as just another excuse to go out dancing with my girlfriends and look at boys.
Christmas is not just another excuse anymore. It’s full of other nuances that I thought I would never know… (N2S: though I won’t mind dancing with my girlfriends.)
Lots of sweets.
Lots of presents.
Lots of candles.
Lots of surprises.
Lots of love.
Lots of time with the closest families.
In Swedish, I’d use the word “mysig” to describe Christmas. Literally means cozy. But it’s a bit more than that, I believe. It’s warm and snuggly and cushy. A bit like a soft furry rabbit snuggling up under its warm velvet blanket.
Hmm. Maybe Christmas is a bit like a tame Chinese New Year. In Hokkien, I’d use the word “lau juak” to describe CNY. I’m not sure what English word would have similar meaning as “lau juak”. It feels a little crowded and warm and loud but in a positive way. Like you simply want to be there because everyone’s there…
Hmm.
Anyway, it’s of course lots of Christmas shopping in December, too.
Mook: What do you want for Christmas?
Troll: Hmm… (lots of stuff that I need) but I think I want a dress from the sixties *s*
Mook: Ok…
Troll: I like polkadots, ribbons, buttons, and everything red…
And it will be a surprise when Troll gets her present.
That’s what Christmas is all about isnt it.

And of course, here’s my pre-Christmas pressie.
Hope you have a cozy Christmas :)
What do you do if you get up in the middle of the night (0300) and just can’t go back to sleep again (because you keep thinking about you gotta get up for work soon)?
You switch on the telly and read some news on teletext. You watch a couple of the most viewed videos on YouTube. You call your mom who’s living on the other side of the world (just perfect timing). You drink lots of water just so that you can get outta bed and get more and more water. You read an article in the latest Newsweek, or a chapter in the book you’re currently reading. You internet shop. You look around you and start imagining things. You talk to yourself. You blog.
So these are just really wild ideas based on personal experience. So be very inspired!
w.o.o.h.o.o.
Just as inspiring as shopping at IKEA. You see how the professionals put it altogether and make it work and then doop! (I mean the *lightbulb* of course) – Ahhh… that’s where we can have our black Nessie monster lookalike thingy!
Or our 90cm tall banana fibre thingy…
And do you know that wild bananas have large hard seeds?
Isn’t that inspiring? *open eyes widely*
At least now I can try going back to sleep with wild ideas in my head…
It’s been a month since my last post and I thought, damn it… that’s it. I’m gonna stop blogging. I’m just too preoccupied with my “real life” that I’m losing my other unfortunate twisted life. *sighs*
So I went and looked at my so-called Blog Stats. And WOW! I’ve got as many as 25 views per day!!!!!! *Wooohooooooooo———*
Um wait a sec. Where do all these people come from? I guess the Helsingblog guy bought me some *applause*… or maybe people just happen to google “Screaming in Sweden” when they get bored? O_o
The real life could never be better (=Pay day tomorrow!). He would squeeze da hell outta me – but I’ve bought the cutest pair of shoes today. *tee-hee* How sweet. Awwwww……
That aside, for more than a month now – I’ve been listening to The Ark. In case you’ve been away from Sweden for the past few weeks, they are of course the happy (or if you fancy, gay) winners of the Melodifestivalen (ie the Swedish finalist going all da way to Finland in May to compete in the greatest event of the year – Eurovision Song Contest… *phew!*).
In fact, 4 million Swedes were watching the final last Saturday. Almost half of the Swedish population. I was of course one of them… sad to say.
Troll: I have a confession.
Mongo: *stares blindly*
T: I’ve become a little too Swedish for my taste.
M: *rubs eyes*
T: I don’t know why but I’m always choosing gray or black over the others. I shop at H&M, MQ, Gina Tricot, Vero Moda, IKEA… and I’m using too much hairspray that my hair’s turning white! I recently got very excited over Melodifestivalen, a documentary of Göran Persson’s life as a prime minister… I eat at least 5 times a day (one of the meals consists of a banana)… *noise noise*
M: *yawns*
